Day 1 – Entebbe/Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park and afternoon game drive

Depart from Entebbe/Kampala early in the morning and drive to Lake Mburo National park (about 3 hours drive). Lake Mburo NP is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and is home to 350 bird species as well as Zebra, Impala, Eland, Buffalo, Oribi, Defassa Waterbuck, Leopard, Hippo, Hyena, Topi, and Reedbuck plus the newly introduced Giraffes from Murchison Falls National Park.

Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, thereafter do a boat trip followed by an evening game drive.

Day 2 – Lake Mburo National Park to Bwindi

Depart from Lake Mburo in the morning and take the 5-hour drive to Bwindi. Check in to your lodge.

Day 3 – Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi

After a 0630 hrs breakfast, head for the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) briefing center with a packed lunch provided by the lodge. You must be at the UWA briefing center well before 0800 hrs for registration and a talk from ranger-guide on trekking rules. Gorillas move to new places every day and the time taken to see the Gorillas is unpredictable. This ranges from 2-3 hours to 6 or 7 hours. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Travel to Lake Bunyonyi for Bird watching and community tour

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Bunyonyi Kabale (approx. 2 hours travel time), where you will check in to your lodge and thereafter tour the scenic and tranquil lake to view the very diverse birdlife (200 species), listen to the interesting stories about the history of the area, and visit the local Batwa community to see how they live.

Day 5 – Travel to Entebbe/Kampala

After breakfast, travel to Entebbe/Kampala with a stopover en route for lunch.
